Description
There is no record of the first performance of Handel's Ode, despite the fact that it was most likely composed in 1713 to commemorate the Queen's birthday on February 6th. Although there is a lot of variation in the nine movements, Handel produces some of his most creative writing in the opening movement, "Eternal source of light divine."
