Description
Antonio Soler, a prolific Spanish composer, created over 500 sacred choral works during his lifetime. However, it is his approximately 200 keyboard sonatas that have captivated the interest of modern performers. Our anthology presents 18 of these sonatas, showcasing the full range of Soler's creative output. In a 1761 music theory treatise, Soler outlined techniques for rapid modulation between distant keys - techniques that are also evident in his keyboard works. This Urtext volume allows players to experience the subtlety and speed of Soler's modulations, as well as the brilliant lightness and occasional moments of pathos that characterize his keyboard sonatas.
