"In The Center Ring" was composed in the fall of 2003 for the Upper Antioch Grade School Band located in Antioch, Illinois, under the direction of Earl Bush. The composition serves as a musical representation of a circus show, capturing everything from the whimsical antics of jugglers and clowns to the gracefulness of high-wire and trapeze artists. This exuberant musical journey presents a significant technical challenge, yet it is equally enjoyable for both the performer and the audience. Most importantly, keep in mind that this is a theatrical work - therefore, highlight the dynamics, accentuate the inherent humor, and most importantly, have FUN!
