Henle Publishers is proud to release the first of three volumes featuring the complete piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven in a newly prepared Urtext edition (paperbound HN 832, HN 834, and HN 836). This edition has been meticulously prepared by Maestro Murray Perahia in collaboration with Norbert Gertsch, a distinguished expert on Beethoven at G. Henle Publishers. The initial volume encompasses the eleven sonatas published between 1802 and 1806, specifically nos. 12 to 22, op. 26 to 54. Each sonata has been edited to align with the latest research findings and includes a comprehensive preface along with a Critical Report detailing the source materials and reading challenges. In addition to his invaluable fingerings, Murray Perahia offers profound insights into the emotional depth and structural intricacies of these remarkable works.
