Description
This collection of six pieces draws inspiration from the folk melodies and dance traditions of Transylvania, a region that became part of Romania in 1920. While the original melodies were intended for instruments such as the violin or shepherd's flute, the distinctive harmonies are a unique contribution from Bartók. The entire set of dances has a performance duration of approximately 4 minutes and 15 seconds, and it is accompanied by an exceptional CD recording from the Naxos label.
