Description
Deodat de Severac (1872-1921) spent most of his life in southern France, and his deep affection for the region and its people inspired much of his musical output. His compositional legacy, though not extensive, includes four operas, incidental stage music, songs, choral works, orchestral pieces, and seven sets of piano works. Among the latter, unfortunately rarely performed, are the eight "Petites Pièces Romantiques de Moyenne Difficulté" first published in 1912. In this new edition, the editorial team has made minor revisions to the expressive and articulation markings, adjusted the placement of dynamic indications (particularly where inconsistencies were evident), provided additional fingerings, retranslated the piece titles, and suggested metronome markings (with the exception of the second piece, which retains the original tempo indication).
