The Godowsky Collection - Volume 3

  • Weight : 3.253g
RM 463.90

Description

The third volume of the Godowsky Collection focuses on one of Godowsky's most significant and debated endeavors: the virtuosic studies inspired by Frédéric Chopin's Études from Opp. 10 and 25. These works, which were both celebrated and criticized upon their initial performances and publication between 1894 and 1914, serve as intricate and respectful interpretations of Chopin's artistry, showcasing the limits of piano technique. Additionally, the volume includes the 1899 concert arrangement of Chopin's Rondo, Op. 16, along with six waltzes from Op. 18, Op. 64, and Op. 70. As in previous volumes, the comprehensive notes and biography are provided by esteemed Godowsky scholar Dr. Millan Sachania.
