Crossing Borders: A Progressive Introduction to Popular Styles for Piano Duet

Crossing Borders is a newly developed progressive series of volumes aimed at introducing the aspiring pianist to a diverse array of popular music genres, such as jazz, blues, rock, and pop. The majority of the pieces are original compositions by Remo Vinciguerra, and the series is designed to serve as a vibrant and enjoyable complement to traditional classical training.

The rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic characteristics of various popular styles are gradually presented, while a classical essence or structure can still be discerned in much of the music. In line with the inherent freedom associated with popular music, numerous interpretative choices, particularly regarding dynamics and pedaling, are entrusted to the performers. Tempo markings are provided solely for reference and should not be interpreted too rigidly.
