Four Sonatas includes: BWV 1034-1035 for Flute and Basso Continuo, along with; BWV 1030 and 1032 for Flute and obbligato Harpsichord.
Bach's choice of instrument for chamber music, second to the violin, was the traverse flute. However, it is currently impossible to ascertain precisely how much music he composed for this instrument or the origins of the surviving compositions. The grace and smoothness of the flute composition showcase Bach’s appreciation and knowledge of the instrument.
