Description
This composition, consisting of three movements in G major, was created by Muzio Clementi, who is widely regarded as the father of the Classical piano sonata. The version included here has been edited by noted musicologist Willard A. Palmer for the Alfred Masterworks collection. Footnotes are provided with performance suggestions derived from Clementi's "Introduction to the Art of Playing on the Pianoforte." This piece serves as an excellent recital selection for developing piano students, featuring numerous sixteenth-note passages across both hands. The second movement employs dotted rhythms throughout its 3/4 meter.
