Description
String Festival Solos, curated by Samuel Applebaum, offer a cost-effective collection of transcriptions designed for string instruments. Each instrument features two volumes arranged in a progressive sequence of difficulty, with Volume I covering Levels 1 to 2 and Volume II advancing from Level 2 to 3. Each volume includes nine well-known pieces that are staples in the Applebaum teaching repertoire, some of which have been difficult to source. These solos serve as valuable resources for developing technique, dynamics, phrasing, and overall musicianship, making them ideal for recitals, auditions, and various performances, including assemblies, concerts, and festivals. Notable pieces included are "Serenade" by De Beriot, "To A Wild Rose" by MacDowell, and "Grandfather's Clock" by Work, among others.
