This compilation features cherished grade 1 violin works, such as "Land of the Silver Birch," Dvořák’s Largo from the New World Symphony, and Gershwin’s "Oh, Lady, Be Good."
The collection includes newly edited versions of both folk and classical masterpieces, as well as contemporary favorites, all meticulously curated by violin specialist Jessica O’Leary. Accompanying the book is a CD containing performance and accompaniment tracks, along with practical practice tips. The repertoire encompasses selections from both current and historical Trinity and ABRSM syllabuses.
Jessica O’Leary boasts a distinguished career as a teacher, professional violinist, ABRSM examiner, and seminar presenter. She has an extensive background in touring and recording with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Madonna and Led Zeppelin, as well as prestigious ensembles like the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Opera House. Currently, she teaches violin and viola and leads string ensembles at St Paul’s Girls’ School, Eltham College, and Junior Guildhall London.
