Valery Lloyd-Watts pursued her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Royal College of Music in London, ultimately earning a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin under the guidance of Paul Badura-Skoda. She is also a co-author of the book Studying Suzuki Piano: More than Music, which received endorsement from Dr. Suzuki.
