Description
Henle is proud to present a new Urtext edition of Liszt's Piano Sonata in B minor (HN 3227). This edition benefits from the analysis of the autograph manuscript made possible by Henle's excellent facsimile reproduction. Editor Ernst Herttrich consulted not only the first edition, but also a copy annotated by Liszt himself. While Clara Schumann initially dismissed the work as "only blind noise," the new edition features sophisticated fingerings by renowned pianist Marc-André Hamelin, offering a fresh perspective on this seminal piano composition.
