The tritone parallel motion in The Pirate Ship conveys a spirited swagger, while the sequences of perfect fourths in The Lotus Flower Ferris Wheel impart an oriental essence to the music. The somewhat atonal quality of The Coconut Shy, combined with whimsical acciaccaturas and two-part imitation, depicts two individuals vying for the prize.
