Description
Edward MacDowell stands out as one of the foremost native-born composers in America. His reputation has been significantly bolstered by his smaller piano works, which showcase his talent as a miniaturist, infused with a delightful romantic charm and a sense of sparkle. Composed during the MacDowells' residence in a quaint cottage near Wiesbaden, Germany, this early collection of piano pieces reflects themes of legends, elves, and a deep appreciation for nature. Notably, "An Elfin Round" has been selected for the Federation Festivals from 2016 to 2020 and again from 2020 to 2024.
