Description

Liszt's piano cycle "Harmonies poétiques et religieuses" (HN 639) was inspired by the religious-philosophical poems of French Romantic Alphonse de Lamartine. While the cycle as a whole remained relatively obscure, several individual works have become standard repertoire for pianists.

One such work is the lengthy "Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude", which is particularly expressive musically. This piece is now available for the first time in our catalogue as a standalone volume, accompanied by Lamartine's text in three languages. The fingering is provided by the composer himself.
