Description

Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924) is recognized for two prominent clarinet compositions: the Concerto Op. 80, composed in 1902, and the Sonata Op. 129, completed in 1918. At the time he composed the first of these three Intermezzi, Stanford had already established himself as a composer with a repertoire exceeding seventy works.
