Description
This course is tailored for teenagers seeking to enhance their music theory skills despite time constraints. It comprises eight units focusing on various topics, including rhythm, minor intervals, natural and harmonic minor scales, major and minor key signatures, musical terminology and symbols, diminished triads, dominant seventh chords and their inversions in major keys, as well as I-IV-V7-I chord progressions in both major and minor keys. Each unit features a brief introduction to the topic, daily drills for five days, and additional exercises for extra credit that present further challenges.
Although the materials are primarily aimed at piano players, they offer significant value to all instrumentalists, particularly vocalists aiming to improve their sight-singing abilities and understanding of transpositions and piano accompaniment.
The effectiveness of this approach is noteworthy, allowing for substantial progress over a 10-week period with just five minutes of practice each day.
